Which engine is better in drag racing?

For a drag racing set up with turbo charger, should the power steering pump be removed to lessen engine load?

  • is the power gain for a turbo charged engine too high for the power steering pump load not to be noticed? i asked this to the owner and he just said the p/s pump load is negligible.

    your drag racing...your going straight...you dont need power steering when your not turning....besides...itll be less weight for the crankpully....

keep the power steering pump on! it wont make a difference. it wont cause turbo lag or add any power. on a honda, taking the power steering belt off, will only give u 2 hp gain which is not worth. u may say that im at the drag strip but think about it when ur on the street daily driving. its ganna be a pain in the *** to control the car...
