Will a D16Y8 Valve Cover Gasket fit a D16Z6 ?

I have noticed that the D16Y8 valve cover gasket is half the price of the one for the D16Z6. I am under the impression that the 2 engines are 99% identical. The 2 gaskets do have slightly different part numbers but you can buy an off brand on eBay that supposedly fits both. Has anyone tried a Y8 gasket on a Z6, what may be different?

They should be identical. The difference in part numbers is probably due to the plain fact that the engines themselves are different codes.

Take the gasket off and go to a auto parts store of your choice, and ask the salesman to pull one of each. I'm going to tell you that you probably shouldn't risk getting the gasket designed for the D16Y8. You might end up with oil everywhere and if you let it go unnoticed too long, engine failure will result. Not worth the few bucks you'll save in my opinion.
