Why is my Malfunction Indicator Light on?

2004 honda accord sedan 4 cyl malfunction indicator light?

  • i drive a 2004 honda accord sedan 4 cyl and my malfunction indicator light came on this morning and now my car will not go past 3000 rpms and severly jerks when it gets close to 3000 does anyone know if its my transmission or what this problem could be??

    its a trans problem could be anything from bad solenoid to trans rebuilt have the light scanned and go from there on honda's can only change fluid the filter is inside and only can be replaced by taking trans apart but before changing fluid have it checked out since changing fluid is just that changing not fixing anything find shop at atra.com

The CEL is for motor codes and a flashing N or D shift indicator light is for transmission warning. Get the car scanned for codes!

Go to autozone and get the code checked for the malfunction light, Geez it's free, you never seen their commercials
