Turbo Suprcharger question Honda civic vti?

  • Hi. I have a 1999 honda civic si (vti in the uk) and i am planning to supercharge it .. I read that if you do a compression test and leakdown test and they are ok you dont really need to rebuild your moto.. Both of the tests went ok however my moto has 130.000 mph and i was thinking to rebuild it If i am going to put a supercharge it . What are your thoughts on that? If i do rebuild the engine can you recommend parts (compression forged pistons,head gaskets etc) or companies that specialize on engine parts for 1999 si .. i looked at greddy but on their website they didnt have much for my car... It seems that the most popular supercharger are JR and Vortex .. however i live in the uk and i was wondering if you can guys can recommend a company that specializes in the uk as for both of the above brands you can only get them in the U.S. What gain (BHP) shall i expect to get from each supercharger (average)?

If you put a supercharger on a standard engine it wont last a month. So yes you have to rebuild the engine with performance parts that are capable of handling the extra power your engine will produce. In regards to recommending parts, have a look on demon tweaks website. Admittedly they are not the cheapest source but they do stock quite allot of parts which will give you an idea of what you need.
