What kind of engine should i get for My 91,Honda civic Hatchback?

I do alot of engine swaps, the b18c1 is a good choice but the block of the b18b (LS Integra) is stronger. Take the b18b block and mate it with the b18c1 (gsr) head and you have an LS V-TECH swap that's strong enough for boost or nitrous. Plus the b18b block is inexpensive.

I would recommend a B18C1 out of a Integra GSR. They pretty powerful and in a little light car like the civic hatchback you will be able to go pretty fast and a full swap is about $2300. If you have deep pockets you could always go with a K20 from a RSX Type-S. I use to knew a guy with a K20 swap in his ef civc hatch and traction was defiantly not that cars friend.

can you really squeeze a B18 engine there?

Let's see, it's been a while for me. There's a couple of options depending on what you want out of it, and how far you plan to take it. B18, i think that's the engine from the integra. Works well. Good torque. B16. That'd be the engine from the SI civic. Not so great on torque. Good high end. That's pretty much it. Can't remember if the H22 will fit in your car. I also remember people doing CRV engine transplants into civics but the torque is crazy. Not sure if you want to deal with that. Just make sure, what ever you get, that the year is higher than your car. Easier to pass smog that way.
