Is the honda prelude and the honda accord suspension the same?

Is the Honda Accord transmission the same as the Honda Prelude transmission?

  • Im looking at a 2002 Honda Accord and was wondering if it has the same problems with automatic transmission as the 98-02 Prelude did. I currently own a 98 Prelude with an automatic transmission and have rebuilt the transmission once and probably could do it again. I know the Acura TL from 02-03 has major problems with the transmission but I didn't know if that is the same transmission as well. The Honda Accord I'm looking at seems to in good shape. It has 76xxx miles on it. Thx for any info

  • Answer:

The transmission is not the same. However many Hondas of that year range have problems with the automatic transmissions including the Accord v6. The 4 cylinder Accord transmissions are much better but not perfect. With only 76k miles though It should be fine if its a 4 cyl.

yes have the same problems probably will need to be rebuilt in the future. when who knows

I would think the transmission would be the same. Seems the issue with Honda transmissions is they don't recommend any maintenance personally I would invest in having it flushed and the fluid changed every 60k miles it would help the transmission last longer.
