How to install a short shifter in a 1991 Honda Crx?

What to do with my 1991 Honda CRX DX?

  • I just recently purchase a perfect 1991 Honda CRX DX Automatic with roughly 50k OG mileage on it for my first car and daily driver since I just graduated college. My main question is, since I live in the city and will get stuck in traffic constantly, I would love to stick with an automatic but what engine should I swap it for with when the time comes for it to RIP. I know I have the option of doing a automatic to manual swap, but lets stick with automatic options for now. If you could, please tell me how much a swap would cost and what parts needs to be done. Thanks

  • Answer:

U would b better off 2 bye a norther car and keep that car stock , or wast a lot of money and mess up a good car like the one that u have , very low mileage and sounds like a very clean car .

I agree with DRPepper. I would give you an estimate of $4000 to swap out the engine (different) and transmission. Possible much more depending on the electronics that would have to be replace not to mention any modification that would have to be done. Then you should have the same firm take care of your car because they will be the only ones that know what parts to use!
