What is K- series engine?

What is better an h22a or K-series engine on a Honda Prelude 1996 or what would you advice instead to add?

  • once engine is installed what other parts besides a turbo kit and an intake make the engine better?

  • Answer:

I've seen h22 make 700whp.....err and 200ft-lb...., dyno proven. Both are highly capable of being moddied for higher horsepower. Since h22 should already be in the car just keep that in there and mod it how it is. Honda's are cracker box swaps so swapping the k20/24 in there isn't necessarily hard, just time consuming. Go to skunk2.com, they're really big among Honda guys, they have turbo kits usually with everything you need for a turbo upgrade. Also, forums are your friend: www.preludezone.com www.preludeonline.com www.preludepower.com Only, problem I have with Honda engines is the torque gnome....steals that **** every time.

K series would be better but they are EXPENSIVE. I had an h22a in my lude and it was really fast and fun to drive. More practical swap too. But parts you can buy are intake, intake manifold, chip your ECU, header/catback exhaust, lightweight flywheel, bigger throttle body. Cams will make big power but they're not very practical for a daily driver. But yeah there's some.ideas for you. Hope it helps!!

Well in terms of ease of install, the H22A since it was an engine used in the Prelude. In terms of power, the K20A. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, intake manifold, headers, exhaust, etc.
