HONDA CIVIC 2001 electric clutch on the compressor?

Clutch on Honda 2001?

  • Hey guys, I had a quick question....I used to drive a s10 manual I recently got a 2001 Honda manual....and when I switch gears, it doesn't go smoothly it clicks twice, it feels like it doesn't fit, and I do know how to drive a standard...and I do push the clutch all the way in. What do I do?

  • Answer:

sounds like you are timing your change wrong OR the synchro is worn

Does it sound like a metal click exactly when u put in a gear? My prelude sounds like that, it didnt before but started to right after i got a new altenator installed from my mechanic and every gear i go into sounds like a metal click, and in 3rd gear catching speed my car shakes a little i think it might be a belt on the altenator is to tight or somethin... but yea let me know?

Have the fluid in the gearbox checked to ensure it's at the proper level. Change the fluid in the gearbox. ($20 for the fluid and 1 drain plug gasket) This takes about 30 minutes to do. Get a trusted second opinion during a road test. I have owned 5 different Civics, all shifted smooth with no clicks. Good luck.
