Why are Honda's better than Fords?

Why do people tend to steal hondas?

  • Are they popular or something? What is with hondas that make people want to steal them so bad. Not sayin that anyone stole my Civic,(And Prayfully it will never happen), but just wondering as to why they seal hondas>.

  • Answer:

Why do you have a honda? They are probably the most reliable cars out there. The accords are known to last the longest, lasting well over 200k. Civics too. So watch out. But hondas just made a very good name for theirself before i was even born.

A base price Honda is less likely to come standard with an anti theft device than base price domestic cars, they sell you only what you pay for. Due to their popularity (Honda civic is #2 selling car in the US) the parts are in high demand and after stealing the car theres a good chance theres someone out there willing to buy the chopped parts. Interesting enough though, 1990's models and earlier Toyota Camry have consistently been the most stolen vehicle in the US, not a Honda.

Yes, they're popular, particularly with street-racing morons. Blame "The Fast and the Furious" if you like. (Of course, the fact that they're the best handling cars in their class, and they take well to modification helps, too.) It's not all Hondas, though they are more susceptible than most cars. It's certain trim levels (Si, GSR, Type-R) that really get stolen a lot. It's because the parts from those cars swap easily onto the lesser cars. When you see someone talking about their Civic with a type-R engine or suspension, chances are the parts are stolen. Those trim levels bring the average up for the entire model. I recall reading once that every year, 1 in 6 Integra Type-Rs would be stolen. It's probably gone down since then (because the ones that haven't gotten stolen EVER have been kept securely, and still are being kept securely). GSRs also get stolen a lot. That brings the average for all Integras (even the ones that aren't THAT much more likely to be stolen) way up. But basically, they get stolen because they are popular, yes. They are stolen to meet a demand for parts among street-racer morons.

They are very popular for chop shops. There are so many hondas on the road, that the parts on them can be sold easily and fast.

people steal Honda because that car can easily be customized and be changed from the original position

so many hondas are sold in the US that there is a huge market for used honda part (specifically the 1996 accord, which is what i drive...not stolen yet)

Stupid Riceboys, That's why. Because of them your Honda is worth more as parts then as a whole car. 6 or 7 grand to "pimp" it... PUHLEEZE.

Honda's in the past (1988 - 1999) had really easy ignition system. The current models are just the best thing to sell in chop shops. My Civic 98 was stolen 4 times, I had to get a lowjack system installed. Anyone that has a Honda get the TIRE lock. Best solution.
