How do I get my jammed hood open on my 1996 Oldsmobille Cutlass Supreme?

I was involved in a little fender bender (nothing serious) and my cars hood was jammed up. The interior release does not work and I have no idea how to go about fixing it. I want to do this job my self so do not tell me to goto a mechanic. What is the best way to fix this problem?

Answer:
The inside hood release has a cable running to it that actually props the hood up. Find that cable and give it a good tug with some pliers. If that doesn't work the first time, I would recommend using a pry bar to loosen the hood from some of the other boby panels that it may have gotten stuck to. Good luck.

If can feel around or see the hood latch, you should be able to say put a screw driver up to it and hit with a hammer or something. I think it's just a metal hook and spring that holds the hood in place.
