A camaro VS. a Mustang? who wins?

2002 Mustang GT stock vs. 2000 Camaro SS stock straight drag. Who Wins?

    Hate to inform the Ford crowd, but a GT would lose every time to an SS. The GT was never faster than an SS since Ford switched from the fox body Mustang (regardless of what the road tests say). A Cobra is the only Mustang of that era that would give an SS (or a WS6) a challenge, and that would come down to who the better driver is. And Hokie, I am actually higher on the TA, but to say the Camaro wouldn't stand a chance is way off. Ford horsepower was always over rated, the 03-04 Cobra and 00-02 SS in stock form were always about 1-2 mph apart in the 1/4, which shows there horsepower is very similar, and came down to who was the better driver, have seen it many times.

yea it sucks to admitt but ss would win... but id drive a mustang over a camaro any day!

It wouldn't be close. You are comparing the mustang with 260HP and a 5 speed tranny vs. a 6 speed camaro with 325HP. Seriously, I borrowed a Mustang and raced my buddy in a 2000 SS...he whooped me.

Not even close. I own and love my Mustang, but even I know it's far from fast. Even driver race, Camaro wins every time. But it still looks like a catfish :) Oh and JP64, I think you're a little to high on Camaros. When you say that "era", are you including 03 and 04? Because a stock 5.7L doesn't stand a chance against an 03-04 Cobra with a blown 5.4L.

A stock GT wont be running a 13.5 svoman,not even close.Assuming they have good drivers the Camaro will easily win.A stock GT is looking at usually running around a 14.3 and a stock Camaro is gonna run around a 13.5.

well depends on whos driving but if the camaro has no bolt ons it would be even but the camaro would probley take it. I belive they stoped the camaros in 1999. when my car was stock iv beat some camaros but thats because they where bad drivers
