    5.0L (actually 4.9L) V8, 215 HP/285 torques 3.08 rear end w/ Trac-Loc By today's standards it's not particularly fast, but it's quick enough to be fun and there is a huge aftermarket for it. The automatic models were noticeably slower than the stick shift models. The AOD/E transmissions were not very efficient in their power transfer. The most cost effective mods for the 5.0L SN-95 cars are pretty similar to those of the fox bodied cars; rear end gears, exhaust, and bumping the timing up. For better performance and decent highway mileage. 3.55 gears are probably your best bet.

The 95 Mustang GT came with 215hp and 295 lb ft of torque if I remember correctly. It will get up and go off the line pretty quickly but it won't be very fast on the highway compared to most V8 cars now a days. The good thing is that the 5.0L V8 probably has the biggest aftermarket performance parts market out there and parts are cheap and plentiful. Mustangs are also really easy to work on and modify too.You can add a ton of power easily or just a few performance bolt ons to add to bring the power ratings up quickly. The gas mileage on them is pretty decent too.
