How good of a sound system could i get for $1000?

Is the Ford Fiesta premium sound system worth it?

• Okay, here is my problem: I built a Fiesta SE and added sync, a moonroof, the sport appearance package (to get cruise control) and the advanced anti-theft alarm. Total price was $17,440 on Ford's website. From what I can find, you can't get add the premium sound to the SE so you have to get the SES package. The SES with a moonroof and alarm added was $18,685. The SES also has a bunch of crap like chrome parts, leather wrapped steering wheel and ambient lighting that I would never buy by themselves but are admittedly pretty cool. So, I hear the SE's stock speakers are only mounted in the front and this sounds slightly annoying and like the sound quality would suck. Does anyone know if the six speaker "premium" system is any good? They didn't list anything about make or model on their site. The option would be to get something really nice like an Alpine or Bose system installed later (like $1000 right?). I don't need the best system ever but I want something that is at least decent, which it sounds like the non-premium Fiesta system is not. So, is it better to go aftermarket or to just get the Ford premium system and the rest of the cool gadgets that come with it?

  You can get aftermarket much cheaper than that, but I don't know how much the fitting costs. The leather steering wheel is worth buying, especially if you want to drive longer routes. Now, a premium sound made by manufacturer also comes with a radio that fits perfectly to your car, and that's something worth paying for imho. It's your money, though, and it is all up to you. You can get a better sound system for the same kind of money if you go aftermarket, but you can't get it to fit so perfectly.
