Where does the Gt emblems go on my 95 mustang?

95 mustang gt 5.0 no power above 3000 rpms.?

  • I have a 95 mustang gt 5.0. The metal piece on the rotor broke off, so i replaced the rotor. A week later, the distributor went out. While the distributor was still out, i had my catalytic converters cut off and had flowmasters put on. Then i replaced the distributor. Now, when i get up to 3000 rpms, the car bogs down like its running out of gas and the rpms jump around. The rpms go up, but they "bounce" up. If i slowly accelerate, it gets past 3000 rpms with no problem. I have replace Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, Ignition coil, Ignition control module, fuel pump, and fuel filter. Any idea on what else it could be? anything helps. Thanks

I had a timing issue with my 89 GT 5.0/automatic between 3rd and 4th gears, check the "spout connector" for corrosion on the tabs. Its a small plastic plug (looks like a light gray colored lego) that's in a wire loom off the main wire loom that snaps in to the bottom of the distributor. Its easy to change and is a dealer part only. About 8 dollars for a new one if cleaning up yours didn't fix the problem. I never knew what it was till I looked up what was needed to check the timing.

By puttingg the flowmaster on and cutting of the cats you may have decrease the back pressure to the cylinder too much, this would make your 5.0 lack compression and it wouldn't be able to exert the amount of power it should

its a 5.sl0w what do you expect be glad to have power below 3000

Bounces at 3,000 rpm, .....still sounds like the distributor vacuum advance. Try this: There's a small spring or two under the rotor, part of the advance. Get a thin piece of wire & carefully wrap over one of the springs, so it cannot expand/stretch. Put her back together & see if that changes things. If it acts differently, the springs might be too 'soft' for your engine. Good Luck.
