How much does it cost to put racing stripes on a car?

Estimate cost of stripes (racing, rocker, and fender stripes)?

• The detailership I last went to estimated it to be about 3200 dollars for 2 12" black racing stripes with a 1.5" red in the middle, 2 fender stripes with black in the middle either side, and black rocker stripes either side on my white 07 mustang gt, along with installing a hood scoop and calliper covers. Does this sound about right, because honestly it seems a bit expensive, but this is cleared actual paint not vinyl and across all panels of the car for the racing stripes including roof. One of my friends who works at another detailership said he could do it for under 1000 but that seems a little cheap and i don't trust an expert job to be done at that price. What price do you think is more believable?   $3200 sounds high to me but since you're looking to have it painted instead of vinyl decals it'll be more $. They're not repainting the whole car or anything so I think it's a high estimate but generally you get what you pay for. I'd ask to see other custom jobs they've done to see if they're up to par or just looking to make a lot of $ off of you for a substandard custom paint job that they don't normally do. Go to an auto body shop and get another estimate, not a detailer or a Ford dealership. I really don't know which of the two you meant by "detailership". To be honest I wouldn't get it done exactly like the car in the pic. Copying someone else's unique paint scheme exactly isn't very cool. I'd suggest getting a similar design but not an exact copy.
