Led lights in my ford focus?

LED Tail Lights on a 2003 Ford Focus ZX5 Hatchback?

  • So, I installed LED tail lights on the back of my ford focus hatchback and a few problems have occurred that I hope someone can help me with. First of all, when I signal it's crazy fast! It's almost like there's a burnt out bulb like cars do when a light is being burnt out. Wondering if someone knows an easy solution to fix that. Secondly, when the park lights are on, only one tail light turns on and the other one is really dim... Any solutions to that. Any help would be amazing! Thanks in advance!

  • Answer:

Either get LEDs with resistors so the indicators work correctly or add parallel resistors or put the 'regular' bulbs back. parallel resistor http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/LED-Resistor-kit-pair.html which seems to be a 33 ohm 10W, possibly found cheaper in locally

The LED's do not draw nearly as much power as the incandesant bulbs. That is why the blinker is running fast. Personally, I'd like mine to run fast, gets people's attn faster! ;P As far as the dimming, check your ground wires. A "false ground" can do that. Just check that the ground wire is making good contact. If it barely makes contact then it can dim the circuit.
