Auto repair, 93 ford escort lx wagon, irraddic idle,stalls,?

I had a Ford Tempo that did that everytime I drove it! I swear to this day that car was possessed!

Sounds like a bad Idle Air Control unit. Sometimes it helps to remove & clean them, but most times they need replaced.

I agree with Indiana, but I would also check the throttle position sensor. When the t.p.s. voltage is off it will cause the vehicle to idle erratically.

the easiest check is find a mechanic with a comptuer and have him check the computer in the car. 93 was stilla fairly early age in the electronic cars and you may have a fritiz on that. easiest thing to check to...just plugging in a cable. But that would throw off the idle, mess up the injectors causeing stalls...all sorts of fun stuff...
