1985 ford ranger pros and cons?

  • im buying a 1985 ford ranger for $100 its got the 2.0 carbed 4 speed with over drive its a short bed it has no BODY rust now for the bad stuff (im a mechanic and have gotten the biggest peces of **** running and on the road safely and legally in maine) i thinks its sat since 04 i have been able to look under it yet (buying it today and its buried in snow) what im expecting to do is brake lines patch the floors exhaust tires (if there bald or dry rotted) im getting it for so cheap because it was the guys brother who dyed a year and a half ago the floors have ice on them witch can be good or bad bad because water could have rusted them out good because if there holding water there cant be holes what else can i expect Thanks

    Pro - It's cheap, and it apparently functions Con - Pretty much everything else For $100 it's not a bad deal, but you really should give it thorough going over, I'm sure there are untold horrors lurking underneath the body that will have to be addressed.

A hundred dollars is less than you could get for scrap.

It's a used up 25 year old work truck and not worth investing any money in..after sitting for 7 years, it's not worth the cost of the brake and fuel system rebuild which it will need..
