Where is the starter located on ford trucks?

Where is the starter motor located on an R reg Ford Fiesta 1.3 endura-e engine?

  • I think my starter motor has seized. I haven't started it in 2 weeks, and when i did there was only a clicking sound. the battery is working ok, lights, work. I tried to find the starter motor so i can give it a whack, but can't find it.......CAN ANYONE HELP!?!?!?!

  • Answer:

i suggest you do not listen to the people who have told you that it is at the rear of the engine because they are talking about the 1.25 16v engine not the 1.3. the starter motor on your engine is located at the front of the engine right hand side,it is very easy to get to.

Jon K is right, its at the back of the engine, underneath the plastic injection system, to get to it, you need to jack the car up, really high, to get under it and hopefully you will be able to reach it, i know from personal expreience- its a *****!!! i think Ford did this on purpose to make you take it to a garage! thats my honest opinion as well!!! its gotta be the worst design i have ever seen!!!

the starter motor is located at the back of the engine on your Fiesta. The inlet manifold is in the way to whack it from the top?And from underneath, I don't think you could get too it that way either?Sorry, but hope this helps?

If it just clicks, the chances are your battery is flat - regardless of whether your lights work OK. Try a jump start.

Follow the red wire off the battery, that's where it goes
