How much does it cost to put racing stripes on a car?

Ford Mustang racing stripes. What color and how much?

  • I have a dark red (burgandy) 2003 (not new generation) mustang gt. I've always wanted to put racing stripes over the hood, roof, and trunk of the car but I do not know how much it'll cost me and where to get it done at. Also I was wondering what color I should get? I was thinking silver or gray.

    Racing stripes are available from Roush just to name one vendor. Any vinyl shop with experience putting them on can install the stripes. Go to a local ford show and ask some of the owners who installed their stripes. Also you might just ask your local dealer if they do it or if they know someone who will. Contrasting color is more a matter of personal preference rather than a rule. What color is the interior? You might want to play off that color.

Try a Tan color. There is a newer Mustang at my local dealer with this color combo and it looks great. As far as pricing goes, I couldn't tell you. Go to a reputable body shop and ask them. Silver might now be a bad color, but I think that a classic white would be better. As for pricing...free quotes is the best way to go. Call around to different paint shops in your area and ask them how much. You can also look into getting the stripes like Roush sells. If you get the stripes though, when you rub your hand across the stripes you feel it. It's much nicer and more professional to have htem painted on, though it is more expensive.
