What are the main parts of visual basic 2005?

What parts can be put on a 2005 Ford Taurus Sel to increase fuel economy?

  • I just got my taurus and it gives me about 370 miles on a full tank. i get about 18-22 miles per gallon depending on how i drive. I drive slow and throw it in to neutral at red lights and all that. i even changed the spark plugs and the air filter. the gas mileage got a little better but i hear that i can put parts on it to make it increase by a lot. I just want to know what actually works before i spend the money on it.

  • Answer:

None. Don't spend money to get perhaps a tiny fraction of a percentage increase in fuel economy. That is for fools. If you want real changes in fuel mileage change yourself. A year ago when I adopted a more fuel efficient driving style my MPG instantly increased by 5 mpg. Quite literally now I get very grumpy if I don't average 30 mpg in a car that is EPA rated at 27 mpg highway and 24 mpg in mixed driving. My average for the last six months is 30.34 with a peak of 33.2 mpg. And all I did was change me. The tips are all out there. Rule #1 is use less brakes. People use their brakes way too much and every time you do you convert money (petrol) into wasted heat. If you change your driving style to brake less you will also do other things that cause you to burn less fuel. Timing stop lights and traffic at stop signs, watching traffic WELL ahead (not just one car length ahead), etc, etc, etc,...

Use a synthetic oil in the weight called for in the owners manual, in both my wife's and my trucks we pulled four more miles to the gallon on this oil upgrade alone we use Mobile One . Also look into a cold air intake or building one yourself from kits on the after market, drive smart, look into low rolling resistance tires if your vehicle isn't not equipped with them, and change your spark plugs to a E3 Diamond Fire or comparable plug, not the factory Motorcraft.

There's not much you can do part wise. A less restrictive exhaust system helps. Putting a higher temp thermostat in helps. Most importantly, make sure your tires are aligned and inflated 5 to 10 lbs more than they call for. Tires are psi rated for comfort, not safety. I keep 46 in mine. It reduces wear significantly and the car just rolls so smoothly. When I go down to 35 psi, it feels like the cars pulling a trailer. Make sure the injectors are clean. Use a quality cleaner, like Lucas Oil, not some 99 cent STP garbage. Use a lighter weight oil and you'll increase slightly, but cause more engine damage.

You're getting pretty much what the car is supposed to get. And there's no magic part that you can add that will increase fuel economy by a noticeable about.
