I have Ford Taurus starting problem.

2006 Ford Taurus Running Problem?

  • This ford taurus came in with a running problem. I found a few small holes in the intake plenum. I replaced the intake plenum and it still had a running problem. The mass air flow sensor reading was showing low. I tried replacing it with a known good one. Still the same problem. I used gum cutter on all of the vacuum lines and all around the intake to check for vacuum leaks. nothing. If you reset the computer the MAF reading will start out normal but you can watch it slowly drop and then stay down. anyone ever run across this??

  • Answer:

is the new plenum leaking. you can use silicone or gasket sealer to seal all seems in the intake system. But first I would spray wd40 in the intake. then spray it around the intake.see if the engine boggs down. start spraying wd40 on the vacuum lines and see what happens.
