  • ok i just took 1989 ford ranger 2.3 engine out of the truck to swap into my 1995 ford ranger which also had a 2.3 in it there is one problem with the swap i realized after i put the engine in the crank shaft sensor i believe thats what its called is different the engine it had in before had two different sensors four wires total and the 89 engine i put on only has one sensor just on the crank shaft with 4 wires so i have 1 connector on the engine and two connectors on the harness does anyone know how i wire up the 4 wires off the crank shat sensor into the two connectors where the old sensors were pluged in?

  • Answer:

An 89 model engine does not have a camshaft position sensor or the same crank position sensor. You are best off finding a 95-later 4 cylinder to make this swap work. The block got redesigned in 1995...
