What do people think about Ford Motor Company and their cars?

• What do people think about Ford as a company and their cars...would you say they make good quality cars?...whats most peoples initial impression of a ford car, say compared to Skoda? Do people rank it highly in terms of buying it? Who is Ford's cars actually aimed at? For example, do youngsters buy it or is it an average middle-class car affordable by most people? Has it had problems with its brand or reputation? What are the good and bad things about Ford on the whole? Sorry, it might be too much to answer, but feel free to answer as many as u can...i need all the help i can! Thank you in advance!!

  I've been a Ford-Lincoln-Mercury guy all my life and that's what my family always had for the most part. Ford has had good cars and some bad... just like all the other automakers have. They've also produced some of the most famous cars (Mustang, T-Bird & F-Series trucks as examples) and the most INfamous cars (Edsel, Pinto) as well. Every car maker has had hits and misses though... that's just the way it works. And that applies to Honda, Toyota and the other foreign makers too. These days, they're rated the number one American manufacturer of cars. Of the Big 3, they're the only company to NOT file bankruptcy. Many of their cars and trucks are beating those of foreign competition in quality and durability. They also make cars for just about everyone when it comes to price... that means cheap cars to luxury cars. Lately, the Fusion has been massively popular and so have their hybrids. The "Cash For Clunkers" scam helped Ford sales immensely... be if for fuel efficient cars or for the F-150. Overall, while I do like one or two of the Chevy rigs, I am a bleeding blue Ford man. I always will be. I like more of their old products and the new ones too. I think Ford has its act together when compared to the other manufacturers and I think they'll survive at least the next few years whereas the others might not. Chevy is in deep, deep trouble... and if Dodge/Chrysler wasn't bought up by Fiat? They'd be dead already. Ford was making good moves long before the real recession hit... and it's paying off now. The others? Too little too late. The upper management types had their heads buried in the sand... or up their own backsides. You are now seeing the results of not taking action long ago... Ford is surviving, the others are dying. That makes my faith in Ford hold steady, even if I am fearful for the future. Bottom line for me? I would buy a Ford product before I would buy any other product from any other manufacturer. For two reasons: 1) I support America, not the Japs or any other foreign maker. 2) I think the Ford products are good... so they get my loyalty. Hope all that helps... and best wishes!
