What transfer case do I have in my 1989 Bronco?

Is the transfer case on my 1989 ford bronco filled with oil by my auto transmission or is it a seperate thing?

No, it's a separate compartment. There will be 2 plugs on the back of the transfer case with a 3/8" square drive. The higher one, closer to the driveshaft is the level plug. Fill with ATF to this level.

seperate u can add special gear oil cheak it by stickin u r finger in the hole. itsa special bolt / screw that comes out.

The transfer case uses gear oil, and is filled seperately from the transmission. The only time that the transmission and transfer case oil's will get mixed is if the rear seal fails on the transmission. Since the drain, and fill plugs are damaged, use a pair of vise grips to remove them, then take them down to your local parts store for replacements.
