Should I buy a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport?

2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 losing antifreeze from unknown location ?

  • I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 and its losing antifreeze from somewhere and I can not figure out where its going. It's not the radiator, the reservoir, any hoses, or the heater core. I laid paper down in my garage and pulled it in my garage on top of paper and ran it for a half hour, i checked the paper and there was notjong on it and then i left it sit in my garage overnighht while it was off and checked the paper in the morning and there wss nothing but it lost antifreeze during the process. It been losing antifreeze for a while we had to top it off everyday we used the car, but i never smelled antifreeze burning inside or outside of the vehicle. I know its not going in the oil either because i changed the oil to see if there was water in it and there was no water in the oil. Sio i figured it was the heater core so I just spent like 6 or 7 hours taking the heater core core out and i tested it and it did not leak, so I'm at a loss for what's happening. Please answer if you can help me in anyway, thank you.

On mine it turned out to be a cracked lower thermostat housing..

I would guess head gasket or intake manifold gaskets sounds like a minor leak i would try some kind of stop leak before I change the head gaskets.
