Is there any way where you can go "fully invisible" in YM?

Is their a specail way to put your long tube headers on a 89 mustang to where the starter can go in aswell?

  • i'm putting some long tube headers on my 89 mustang and i took off my starter for the time being because i had to do something to the trans. now that i got the trans up, the header up. now i can't get the starter to slide in. i already know i need to put a sleeve in to cover the starter from heating up. bur i'm just trying to figure out if theirs a way to slide in the starter with the trans in and the header flapping around so you can move the header around to get it to a certent spot to where you can slide in the starter. i haven't found that certent spot and is starting to become limited on options. any help?

  • Answer:

You'll probably have to raise the engine, pull the rubber isolator, and work it in from the front. When I broke the starter snout on my Boss 351 Thunderbird (86 Fox-body) I had to pull the engine halfway out to get the starter in and out. Those swap headers have 1-7/8 tubes so you'll only have a quarter inch more room than I did.
