How much would an engine swap cost for my 1999 Mazda B4000 2WD (Ford Ranger) by a shop?
-
I have found a used 2005 Ford Cologne 4.0L (SOHC) V6 engine out of a 2005 Ford Ranger that I want to swap with my 1999 Mazda B4000's engine (which is a Ford Cologne 4.0L OHV V6). Just wondering how much it would cost to do the swap at a mechanic's shop if I brought the fully functional engine (no repairs needed)? And I wouldn't need to replace the transmission or anything else would I? Because it's the same engine just an upgraded version (OHV to SOHC) and from my knowledge of Ford Rangers/Mazda B-Series trucks, the Cologne engine was the only upgraded thing from the fourth generation. (I don't want answers like; "Do it yourself" or "Don't bother switching the engine", if you're going to answer my question, answer it as I asked it. No personal suggestions.)
