i need to know how i decipher what transfer case i have from my vin #. i have h9 in door jam for axel's that means 3.55 ls does that have anything to do with transfer case? i looked for tag that states which one i have there was no tag, it is a borg warner, but i couldn't find anything that tells me what it is

Answer:
the 3.55 is the gear ratio for the rear differential... you are looking for the model of transfer case...should be able to call the ford dealer with your vin# and they should be able to tell you which transfer case (probably only 2 options.)

the vin of the vehicle wont neccessarily tell you what the transfer case is, if you look on the case it should have a number or a code on it.
