How do I reprogram keyless entry pad on 02 Ford Expedition?

  • Today I replaced the battery, and after doing so the factory keyless entry code does not work. The keypad lights up, but I can not get the doors to unlock with the code. Of course the key works to unlock the doors, but then the alarm goes off until I put my key in the ignition. Any tips on how to reprogram this myself or am I better off going to the dealer?

    Better to go to the Ford dealer.. Also you sure you are using the factory code (which is never lost) instead of a pre-programmed code by you or someone else (which can be lost with battery disconnection?) The original code can be found using s3v3nco's answer The vehicle will never default to the code like the Mark guy says... It will only default to the code burned into the modules memory (and it's a 5 digit code)

whenever undoing the battery the code will automatically be 0000 or 1234 to reprogram hit key remote then hit new code then key remote again good luck also ford has a great website with lots of answeres as well as there customer service site good luck
