2001 Ford Expeditions?
-
I bought 2001 ford Expedition 2 nd hand, and dont know the codes for the keyless entry on the door, is there any way that I can reset it w/o taking it to the ford dealer ship

Answer:
The five digit keypad key code is printed on the decal afixed to the Central Security Module. This module is located beneath the instrument panel, to the left of the steering column, with two electrical connectors connected to it. There will be two numbers. One will be a number similar to XXXX-15K602-XX. That is NOT the code. There will be a set of five NUMBERS beside that. THAT is the five digit keycode you are looking for. Hope this helps.

The code is on the driver's door module, I 'm not sure where its at. You can't change the orginal code unless the driver's door module is changed, the only thing you can do is add a code to it, but you have to have the orginal code to do it. Bring it to the dealer and let them get the code for you.

look in the owners manual towards the back of the book they may have written the code for it in back or towards the back of the book,,if they did the owners manual tells you how to re-set it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

There is a number that you can enter that will make it erase it. Then you can type in another one to be whatever you want it to be. But you have to take it to a dealership to let them look up the cars numbers in their data bank.

rakel is correct on the place ... but it's kind of buried under the dash board and requires a flashlight, laying on your back, and looking up on the drivers side to see that module she talked about, and the 5 digit code is the largest numbers on the module... Also you can never reset the code or erase that 5 digit code.. only add your own personal 5 digit code.... These tricks only work with factory installed keyless entry on the door handle... If you have a black box that's usually stuck above the door handle, you are outta luck as Ford's aftermarket keyless entry pad has no way short of destroying the pad to retrieve the code without the card.

take it to the dealer and pay the 1/2 checkout to tell you the door code. It is cheaper to pay the 30-50 dollars for them to give it to you than it is for you to tear half the truck apart. It is a quick and painless stop.

If you have the manual. It will have the master code, and thin you can reset it to your own code.

the code will be under the dash on the 2 inch thick 6 inch square box or in the jack panel in the rear If you cant find it turn the ignition from all the way off to all the way on without starting the car up to 10 times in a row. when the door locks pop up and down you can program your own code thanks you owe me a beer
