Answer:
The water pump (wp) is directly behind the cooling fan. First tings first, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY! This is crucial so that you don't ground out on anything and send a nasty shock through your body. You will then have to remove the cooling fan shroud and then you have to loosen the 4 bolts that hold the cooling fan and fan clutch assembly to the pulley that drives it and the wp. Then remove the serpentine belt by inserting a 3/8" drive ratchet or breaker bar into the square opening on the tensioner assembly, pull the tensioner back till the belt slacks, then pull the belt off and release the tensioner. Next, drain the radiator by placing a bucket under the driver side of it and opening the pit cock. After it stops draining, then remove the 4 bolts completely and the fan and pulley should come right off. Now you can access the wp. There should be just a few bolts holding it to the engine. Remove the bolts and pull the pump off, using a pry bar if necessary. If the wp takes a paper gasket to seal, then the mating surfaces have to be thoroughly cleaned and dry before installing the new wp, or else it will leak and it would be all for nothing. Also, with the paper gasket, you should apply a thin bead of RTV sealer on both sides of the gasket, allow about 15 minutes for vulcanization, then install. If the gasket is the large O-ring type, make sure the bore that the wp fits into is perfectly clean, dry, and has no visible defects. Take some dielectric grease and lubricate the O-ring while on the new pump to facilitate easy fitting and installation. One important note: get torque specs and sequences for the wp mounting bolts. They need to be properly torqued using the right torque wrench, or the pump will leak and fail prematurely. After the new wp is installed, everything else goes back on the opposite way it came off. Don't forget to close the radiator pit cock and refill the system with new coolant. Good luck.

Located on the side of the motor with the belt it will have about 2-3 hoses coming off it. Take the belt off, remove the water hoses, drain hoses into bucket or let it run out all over the place, unbolt the water pump from car
