Why can't my air conditioner work correctly?

2004 Dodge Dakota air conditioner will not work after sitting in the sun?

  • I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota v6 3.7L and the air conditioner will work in the early morning ok, not very very cold but fine enough. However if my truck has been sitting in the parking lot the air conditioner is not the slightest degree cooler than the air outside. I have tried waiting to see if it will cool down but after 20 or so miles it still won't get cool and I just open the windows. I have taken it back to the dealer where I got it 3 times already to have them fix it and its always the same thing. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them or would have any ideas on how to solve this? Any help in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated!

  • Answer:

they need to check the climate control switch in it ,its what helps to regulate the inside temp on it,that may not be it but its something to check that could cause it to happen,i have seen it happen to other durango,s good luck.
