How much would a flat colored paint job cost?

How much would a paint job cost to be done on my 1996 Dodge Stratus?

  • My gold 1996 dodge stratus has alot of chipped paint areas on it and over all needs a new paint job. I was wondering how much would that cost me? I am still wanting the color to stay gold just bring the gold out a lil bit more and give it that "newer" look.. ya know. I have heard that it cost anywhere from $300 to $1,000 and some on dollars.. Is this true?? I want the paint job to last years and years down the road. I dont want a cheap job done to it but a really good job done to it. Btw I live here in Wichita, Kansas.. If that helps any. honestly if it costs more than $500 (most likely) do not do it. First of all its a 15 year old dodge car (quite impressive since dodge is crap) and it may cost more to paint itt than the value of the car.

I don't know how much it would cost but I would highly suggest getting a paint job no matter what the cost. I have a 2000 dodge stratus and boy is it a rust bucket!

A good quality same-color repaint usually runs around $2500-3000.00 excluding rust repair or body damage. Check with some local dealers or bodyshops and get some estimates and whether they guarantee their work. Look for ASE certified shops....ask your insurance agent who they recommend. Cheaper jobs provided by Maaco or Scheib might only run a few hundred or more but the quality is usually poor...runs, drips, sags, overspray, etc.. and they use single stage paint to keep costs down...no clear coat....which doesn't last as long or look as good.
