What is the best mopar engine to put in Ram 1500?

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 hemi and would like to put something into it to give it more power and mpg?

• I drive a Dodge Ram 1500 hemi and it's got a little over 70,000 miles on it. i bought it used at a local place. and from what i have been told it has a re flashed engine, a cold air filter, a newer engine. the tires on it are almost bald to the point on having no traction though. I have raced it agianst some people and it has absolutely no kick until it hits about 60 then it has a bit of a kick to it. IF you could just give some suggestions on what would be good things to put into my truck

  add a programmer to it, they allow you to dial in the timing settings better and also the shift points on the transmission and also allow for better fuel and air ratio ,that's the best gain you can get from it for the buck these days,their kind of expensive for what they are but they do work,and real good on the hemi,s that's about the best thing you can do for it for the money,good luck.
