How do you change the bypass hose on a 97 dodge dakota?

• We took the ac compressor off and we still can not get to it. We had to change the water pump and to get the water pump off we had to cut the bypass hose and now we deffinetly have to change the bypass hose now. Theres a big metal bracket in the way of it i guess i will have to take that off to get to that little hose. Never seen a hose so hard to change i change a many of hoses in my lifetime.

  yes on those they are hard to get to,and yes the bracket your talking about will make the job a lot easier to do if you at least loosen it and move it out of the way ,those are hard to put on though,you got the right idea though,it takes while to do this one,good luck on it
