Where is the horn in a 97 Dodge Grand Caravan?

How much should it cost to install a rebuilt engine in a 97 Dodge Caravan ?

  • Our dodge Caravan is in great shape, body-wise, new transmission a few years back. Hate to buy a new car. BUT the engine has a bad knock. And yes, it is not about pouring in more oil. Its been checked, its loosing pressure and knocking. so the mechanic is saying NEW engine, well, rebuilt...and it was seeming a bit high in cost. What should I expect to pay for a rebuilt installed (labor included) in a 97 dodge Caravan. (I am realisatic and know I cannot hold anyone to a firm price based on your quote or opinion) so far, we are hearing $2500 for the engine and $1500 labor. (with possible extras, like waterpump, etc another possible $400) Thoughts ?

  • Answer:

about 2500 parts and labor and all included,i done one from jasper engines which is the best re-built engine on the market and it is holding up really well i,ll send you the site for those, they build the best engine on the market right now and back it with a 3 year 75 thousand mile warranty, and you cant beat that, but make sure the vehicle is worth doing that too, very often if you get in an accident the insurance company wont give you half of what you have in one after repairing it like this,so add it all up,good luck ,here's the site, they will have the price for the engine on the site,,good luck, http://www.jasperengines.com/

Keep that one for parts and buy another 97 with the 4400 bucks too much to sink into that black hole!

Why not stuff a used low miler in it, especially if its a3.0, there are a ton of 3.0's and 3.3's avail for $500-750, your in it half almost making it worth driving for another 5yrs.

1500 sounds a little high for labor, but you cannot easily qoute a job like that without leaving some variables on the table, such as water pump, hoses, exhaust studs breakage, eng mounts, fuel injectors, etc. Either way it all can add up.

That sounds about ballpark, engines and installation of engines is expensive
