Step by step removal power seat 95 dodge ram?

Will a rear end from a 95 Dodge Ram 1500 fit into a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500?

• I hope a mechanic sees this question that will know the answer to this. I just bought a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Extended Cab (Sport Model) - 4WD - 5.9L, and I found out that it needs a new rear end. I currently have a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 (Regular Cab) - 4WD - 5.9L, and I am wondering if it is possible that the rear end from it will fit into the 2001 model. The 1995 Dodge Ram rear end was actually replaced since I bought the truck new, and to my knowledge still works fine. I called a salvage yard and they explained that the 2001 trucks have 3 different possibilities of gear ratios for the rear end of the truck, and I would need to know what gear ratio it has in order to get a replacement for it. He then told me that he had one in stock with 93,000 miles, and it would be $1000 + the old one to purchase that rear end. That's when I about had a heart attack, considering we just got done this week putting a new transmission in it. Other than these minor gozillion dollar details, the truck is in mint condition (I hope). So, if the gear ratio of my 1995 Ram is the same as the gear ratio of the 2001 Ram (I'm not holding my breath for that one), but if it were the same, would that rear end fit into the 2001 Ram?
