How to replace the back up sensor?

How do you replace the wheel speed sensor on the differential ? 01' dodge ram 1500 2wd std cab?

  • Hi, I'm trying to replace the wheel speed sensor on the differential on a 2001 dodge ram 1500, standard cab, 2wd. the ABS light is on and i have a friend told me that changing the sensor will help. I have the sensor, and know that it's probably somewhere on the differential. but some guidance would be nice and i also need to know how to change it. thanks to all

  • Answer:

that one just mounts on the top of the differential ,disconnect the wire from it and remove the bolt and pop it out the new one goes back in the same way, then make sure its seated all the way down and replace the bolt and tighten it back down, take care not to over tighten it,they will break if you over tighten them, other wise its about a ten minute job or less, good luck.

One bolt. On the top. Unscrew it and pop the sensor out. http://ahanix.org/etc/dodge/guide/image.php?img=abssensor.jpg
