Can I upgrade my laptop & how to change RAM?

I have a Travelmate 2420 Acer 512mb RAM 1 out of 2 slots used 1.7 GHZ intel pentium M processor.Which Is the right RAM for this model and what is the procedure(do i have to alter the BIOS and how,change OS or just put the ram and continue.Can i Upgrade my processor and how what are the procedures.

You can add up to 2GB of DDR2 400MHz RAM. This RAM will work in your laptop: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007635%20600000442%20600000407&IsNodeId=1&name=1GB All you have to do is put the RAM in it's slots, when you reboot, your computer should recognize the new RAM. It's not practical to upgrade your processor.
