Dodge Ram vs Toyota Tundra?

This is to help us(Taylor and Joey) settle a debate, respond below with who you side with Joey-Tundra As one can see, the Tundra is a superior truck to Dodge's Ram. Roughly the same engine numbers can be found in each ( 381hp for Toyota vs. 390hp for Ram.) Where the Toyota clearly takes the cake is the interior, where finer quality leathers can be seen within along with various cloth options. Please do not argue on here that buying a Tundra takes away jobs, as hundreds are employed at the Tundra assembly plant in Indiana. Taylor-Ram The Dodge Ram is obviously the best choice for the following reasons: In a truck, the interior issue is low on the totem pole compared to performance, which the Ram takes in hp, torque, payload, towing, etc. The exterior in a Ram is more durable (see ford durability test) and in my opinion looks better. The Tundra may employ Americans, but not more than the Ram does. Summary: exterior, performance, more jobs in US, go to the Ram, and interior goes to the Tundra. You choose

Answer:
both of them are good trucks to own and drive right now,one thing i,ll say about Toyota is it never gives any major problems, you both got a good point but considering both are built in the states and i own a few dodges and no Toyota,s i,ll have to go with a dodge, before too long though more jobs may be going towards the Toyota than the dodge, you both got a good point and both are good trucks, i have drove both trucks and both run and perform good, its just a matter of preference on this one,i hate to say it but we cant rule Toyota out as being a good truck, they have proved that they can be a good contender, good luck.

If a manufacturer is going to build a truck they have to offer a 3/4 and 1 ton model with a diesel. Dodge does and Toyota doesn't.

It's where the profits go, keep the profits in the states.

The toyota tailgate collapses if more than 1 person sits on it. That alone negates any and all quality claims by Toyota. Also, I agree that if you're going to offer a fullsize truck, it should be offered with a diesel option, which means it needs a heavy duty version. I've never cared about the interior of a truck because, well, it's a truck. I want it to be useable and durable. I don't care how it feels, I just want it to work, and maybe be able to hose it out if I need to. There's also something to be said when you don't see companies buying fleets of Tundras or Tacomas for that matter, for any type of construction job.

my vote is for the dodge. speaking from a pure work truck point of view, interior is not a issue as long as ya have somewhere to sit, actually more basic and easier to clean is a plus. the ram engines are more durable, produce more power, and torque, and in my experience get better gas mileage fully loaded compared to the imports. and yes even though toyota has american plants, the money still goes to tokyo. the toy offers no 3/4 ton or higher model the ram offers up to a 5500 which is on par with the ford/gm 6500 offerings. also toy offers no diesel. dodge has plans to fit a cummins diesel into all dodge truck platforms ( hopefully fiat wont squash this ) so the durango, dakota, and ram 1500 have a possible diesel option, still no option anywhere on the toy list. the dodge has a higher tow,and haul capacity, my 95 dakota out tows and hauls a new tundra. toyota is just that, a TOY.

You'll most certainly have to take the Toyota Tundra for a fill-up more often than the Dodge Ram 1500 because of its tank size and gas mileage. review site: http://www.newcars.com/toyota/tundra/reviews/dodge-ram1500.html

Well, I prefer Tundra's interior over Ram's, but Ram has got a meaner look. My vote goes to Ram, never been a Toyota fan. And whats up with Dodge's interior design anyway? Was in my friend's Charger last week, and boy did the interior looks and feels cheap. Its pretty & nice on the outside, black & 22"chrome wheels, but once I got in it felt like I'm in a Kia or Daewoo (Korean cras) BTW, my vote is in no way affected by who they employ. I live in Japan.
