  • I've had my little 1999 dodge neon for about a year now. I bought it used, and it has around 140,000 miles on it. Right now it needs a new catalytic converter put in, how much will this cost me?

    you can get after markets right now for under 125 bucks,and labor usually cost around 35-45 bucks to install them,i just had one put on my stratus and total cost was around 175 bucks,good luck with it.

Here in Rapid City, SD, I would do it for $200 installed. Why does it need one? Seriously, when they go bad they can stop a vehicle or really mess up the gas mileage and be dangerous to drive(excess heat). There are other things wrong that shops blame on them. there is a test for blockage with a pressure gage... Be careful as shops love to steal fom women.
