Good affordable gaming desktop?

I'd like a pretty good and affordable gaming desktop. I have a YouTube channel and I'd like to be able to record games like Skyrim on at least medium settings, and I'd also like to be able to record Minecraft on high settings with a decent framerate. I currently have my eyes on the 6GB Intel Core i5 NVIDIA GTX 555 Alienware X51. I'd like to know if there's anything better out there, and anything under $1,000 would be appreciated. Thanks!

Alienware can be expensive and building a PC can be cheaper. Also to the other poster getting a h67 mb is pretty useless if you want to overclock on the 2500k. If you don't want to overclock might as well get just the 2500 or 2400. A p67 or z68 motherboard is better and maybe a cheap cooler to keep it cool. Good bang for the buck graphic cards I would recommend are the 560 and I've heard the hd 7850 was pretty good. A mid tower case and a 650 psu would probably work. I would also recommend a ssd as it decreases load times by quite a bit but it is not necessary if you go over budget.

my suggestion is to build a computer yourself. for 1000 dollars i would suggest an i5 2500k cheap H67 motherboard 600w power supply GTX 570 graphics card

Yes that PC will suit your needs fine, it can play skyrim at max settings. Although try searching to see any cheaper alternatives
