What is a free DVD to avi or mp4 converter?

A Good quality Video Converter with no watermark and not jerky (AVI to MP4)?

Does any one know A Good quality Video converter with no watermarks with no size or time limit? I have looked for ones online that don't require downloading, and they have a limit of 100mb, so i tried downloading some... i have probably tried at least 10 now, and non work! one of them made the video all jerky, one just quit on me, some wouldn't let me convert AVI files, some had a size limit and some had watermarks (brandmarks) in the center! Does any one know of one that does not change the quality of the video, has no watermark and can convert at least 400mb (basically the out come of the video is pretty much the same as before just a MP4 file) I have tried the following...
