What is the difference between a Chrysler loadflite tranny, and a torqueflite tranny?
-
I was always under the impression that my 84 Dodge w150 had a 727 torqueflite in it, but the Chrysler service manual for the 1984 model year of trucks only has specs and maint. procedures for loadflites. So what is the difference, if any, between these two.
-
Answer:
Loadflite was the name for the truck transmission and Torqueflite for the cars. The Loadflite had heavy duty internals and lower gearing.
