What is the differance between a 1997 cadillac STS. and a 1997 cadillac SLS?

After fueling up my 1997 SLS Cadillac, fuel low message comes on,fuel needle goes to empty & then back to full

  • The last time this happened, the problem went away. Today is started again. With the alert noise & display of low fuel indicator coming on, and then the fuel needle indicator goes all the way to empty and then back to full. 1997 SLS Cadillac

    it probably is a problem with the fuel level sensor in tank .This is acommon complaint with other gm makes also. tech asistance says additives in some blends of fuel is to blame.

You didn't mention whether it acts like it is running out of fuel when it does this so I am assuming it isn't. If you don't notice it actually running badly when this happens, then I would say it could be a fuel sensor of some sort.
