Why Won't iTunes Let Me Re-download Songs I've Already Purchased?

  • I recently got a new ipod and have been working on transferring all of the music from my old one over to my new one. For the most part, all of the songs I've actually purchased from iTunes have successfully transferred over. There have been some instances where some songs I had purchased years ago had not moved to my new library, so iTunes let me re-download them for free. However, I was just trying to re-download one song, and this is what happens: when I go look at the full album that the song is on, it says I have already purchased it. But when I click on "Buy," (which I did every other time it let me re-download a song), it's trying to make me purchase it again. Why is iTunes doing this, and how can I get around it? I shouldn't have to pay for the same song twice.

  • Answer:

that's why I don't use them anymore plus there free I just download them from either http://nappybeats.com or from dopehood.com

There a couple possibilities. Chances are you purchased the song before Apple removed the DRM from music in the iTunes store. You should go to the iTunes Store on your computer, and see if you can upgrade those tracks to iTunes Plus, which is usually 30¢ per track.
