Vmware test lab setup in lan?
-
I have a small network of 10 Win XP professional PC's connected in a workgroup. On one of the XP machine's, I installed VMware workstation 7.1.1 build-282343. Within VMware I installed a Win 2003 server o/s with service pack etc., successfully. Active directory also installed successfully. Now, I want to connect to this Win 2003 server from another XP machine - as if joining a domain on regular network. How do I do it ? I tried several internet resources but found it confusing. Can someone please explain clearly ? I intend to later use this setup for installing some client server softwares (like sql server, lotus notes) for evaluation. I shall be really grateful to you. One doubt : Do I need to install vmware on the 2nd XP machine also. I was told that vmware to vmware connection only works. Or that I will need 2 LAN cards on one machine and so on. Is that true ??
