Is it worth it to buy the Sony extended warranty?

Can you buy an extended warranty for a 2005 chevy colorado with under 100k miles on it?

  • I'm curious if someone can buy an extended warranty once it's out of warranty and what would the process be? Would we need to bring it in to have it checked out? What is included in a warranty that you can buy after it's out? How much would something like that cost? It has 82,500 miles on it. Thanks

  • Answer:

1st of all. Forget about getting a warranty on ANY used car ! They sell innocent. naive people these things and NEVER pay up when something goes wrong. If they did that, they would lose money on the deal. Used cars almost always have some issues with them. That's Why they are for sale in the first place. It always either that or the owner simply can't afford to have the car around, so they sell it. Get the truck checked out by a competent mechanic first for it's overall general condition. Then ask him (or her) how much it'll cost to do some of those repairs BEFORE you sign a purchase agreement.

Are you serious? The time to buy an extended warranty - for any item - is either when the item is purchased or in cases where the company invites you to purchase an extended warranty at the time the normal warranty is soon expiring. You must be very young or naive to believe you can somehow reactivate a long-expired warranty

Not all "warranty" companies are scams. You have to go with a reliable company that has been around for awhile, not the fly by night companies that go out of business all the time. Depending on what state you are in, I would suggest you call Damien @ Allied Solutions. 800-826-9384 ext 23319 and tell him you are interested in an "extended warranty".

Unfortunately, you would not be able to purchase a General Motors Protection Plan. I encourage you to check with your local Chevrolet dealerships to confirm if they offer any type of extended warranty. Thank you, Elizabeth, GM Customer Service

There are 3rd party companies that will sell vehicle warrantys. They are pretty much all a rip off or a near scam. go to google and type in this to search and be horrified at the results: "vehicle warranty scam"
